Fifty Shades Darker' Spoilers, Updates: What to Expect in the Film, Gets New Writer and Director?

"Fifty Shades Darker" will probably add humor on the story for a lighter tone. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated film is rumored to get a new writer and director.

Fans of "Fifty Shades of Grey" noted that some parts of the book were funny. This might be adapted in the film for Dakota Johnson's character, Anastasia, so viewers can relate to her. Also, adding humor to Ana will make the film lighter.

"If you can’t laugh during a movie like that, you’re fucked. Literally. You need to have something that everyone can relate to," Johnson said according to ET Online.

Meanwhile, reports reveal that writer E.L. James will change director Sam Taylor-Johnson due to a misunderstanding resulting into a tumultuous relationship. Although they were good friends before, they decided to part ways since they have many creative differences.

Reports reveal that James fears that Taylor-Johnson will take the film to a different direction from how she penned it. James wants to have full creative control of the movie since she worked hard before getting into where she is now.

"We battled all the way through. She'd say the same. There were tough times and revelatory times. There were sparring contests. It was definitely not an easy process," Taylor-Johnson said according to Movie Pilot.

Aside from the director, James also wasn't pleased with Kelly Marcel and Patrick Marber’s adaptations of the first movie based on her best-selling book series. With that, she decided to let her husband Niall Leonard write the screenplay so she could make sure that the plot will not go far from the book.

Because Leonard will work on the screenplay with the help of James, fans will expect that the new adaptation directed by James Foley, will be different from the first movie and will stay faithful to the original story based on the book that James wrote, Movie News Guide reported.
