Gilbert Arenas Under Fire For Saying “Ugly” WNBA Players Should Just Play In Panties

Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas went on an Instagram rampage as he ranted about how ugly WNBA players are and that these ladies should just play in their underwear. This disgusting and sexist message is now a trending topic online that have made fans very angry and ashamed of supporting the former basketball player, a report from Hollywood Life said.

Arenas made horrific comments about the female basketball players and said that the only reason that people may be interested in watching their games was if they played wearing their panties. The 33-year-old player first shared a video of two females playing hoops in his Instagram account. These females were wearing their undergarments as they played ball; one player even had her back towards the camera offering a generous view of her behind.

Arenas revealed that this was what he wanted to see when watching a WNBA game. He said, "NOW this is what america was hoping for when they announced the #WNBA back in 1996...not a bunch of chicks running around looking like cast members from #orangeisthenewblack," he wrote. "don't get me wrong, they have a few #cutiepies but theres a whole lotta #beanpies running around hahahahaha if #skylardiggins came out like this, I dont care if she missed every layup...imma buy season tickets and i dont even know where the f*** #tulas is hahaha #2016newwnbaoutfitPLS and if u think this is sexist, 9 times out of 10, u the ugly one and we didnt pay to come see u play anyway."

This comment caught the attention of fans as well as the WNBA and they released a statement saying that Arenas' comments were "repugnant, utterly disrespectful and flat out wrong." Several league players also took to social media their anger towards the NBA star.

Swin Cash from the Chicago Sky  wrote on Twitter, "To all my smart, beautiful young female ballers...No one ever asked NBA guys to hoop in a speedo so laugh at haters & Dab on dem folk." Candace Parker from the Los Angeles Sparks  added, "Social media gives a platform for individuals to make irrelevant comments and become relevant again."

Gilbert Arenas is a former NBA star who is currently playing for the Shanghai Sharks. People that have read his rant on social media agree that this is simply his way of getting attention since he is not on NBA anymore.
