Nick Novak Sells La Jolla Home for $637,500

Nick Novak, the star placekicker of San Diego Chargers, has reportedly sold his house in La Jolla, Calif., for $637,500.

Property records show that Novak first listed the home for sale in May this year for $675,000, which was soon changed to $689,000. But the price was again brought down to its original asking and it finally closed transaction for $637,500 late in July.

Novak bought the home for $625,000 in July 2013, the same year he set the record for the "best place kicking in regular season of Chargers history" statistically.

The Los Angeles Times first spotted the sale. Ben Greenway of Ben Franklin properties represented Novak and the buyer as well.

The residence is a 1,358-square-foot single-family house, comprising of one bedroom and two bathrooms. The home was remodeled in 2003-04. Before renovation, the residence was a two-bed, two-and-a-half bath house.

Currently, the residence features an open floor plan with light hardwood floors, large French doors and windows and high ceilings.

Living spaces include a living room, a separate dining area and a modern kitchen. There is a work-out room with a sauna and the bedroom has custom wardrobes. There is a laundry, a Wi-Fi equipped office and ample storage area as well.

The home has covered patios and sits on a four-acre lot and therefore accommodates a full-fledged tennis court, a large swimming pool and an attached two-car garage.

The home also boasts of "all Energy Star rated appliances including Bosch dishwasher, Kitchen-Aid refrigerator and microwave, commercial DCS, 5-burner gas range w/ convection oven and low voltage Tec and under cabinet lighting throughout," according to the listing.

Novak has been playing for the Chargers for the last three years and this year's season was pretty good for him. However, he finished last in league for touchbacks, where most of kicks resulted in the opposite team receiving the ball.

Also with the NFL is moving the PAT to 33 yards, will Novak be able to stay on top of his game?

"I think it's fine. I don't have any negative thoughts on it. I've always been the type to do whatever I can to adapt. So I'll just adapt. I want to play in this league, so I'm sure as heck not going to be upset about it. I'm going to work on it," Novak was quoted by ESPN.

"I think it's good field goal practice for the season. In years past (during the preseason) I've maybe only gotten four or five attempts. And this allows me to get more work with my guys. So I think it's a great thing," he added.
