Houston Rockets is currently in the number 7 spot of the Western conference ranking. It is a rank that most experts did not expect for Rockets to have. Prior to the season start, many fans and experts alike expected that the Rockets would be a top contender this season. However, with 12 wins and 14 losses as of the moment, such expectation is incongruent with reality.
The Rockets has not yet shown any signs of great improvement and consistency, even after they have fired their head coach Kevin McHale. The team is currently on a losing streak and allegedly having some issues within their roster. And this issue is somehow affecting the over-all team performance of the Rockets.
According to some rumors, Houston Rocket's big man Dwight Howard is not happy with his team right now. Chris Sheridan of sheridanhoops.com via NJ stated that, "Dwight Howard is extremely unhappy in Houston playing second fiddle to alpha dog James Harden." It can be remembered that this was also one of the issues being linked to Howard's departure from the Lakers. That is why some rumors are now circulating that Howard might opt for a change and transfer to other teams. Sheridan via latinpost also added that;
"No place would be a better fit for Howard than Miami, with its geriatric roster built around Wade and Chris Bosh. If you are Riley, and your two best players are in their 30s, why not add a third 30-something and take a swing at Cleveland with that? It not only is plausible, it is reasonable."
However, Howard denied the issue that he is unhappy with his current team. Jonathan Feigen of Houston Chronicles asked Howard about the said issue and Howard replied via latinpost saying that;
"I haven't said anything to anybody about anything," Howard said. "People make up lies and rumors. I'm trying to get these guys to play better and myself to play better. People say what they got to say to get a story out."
Though Howard answered the rumor about him being unhappy with his team, the issue of him possibly transferring to other teams has not been dealt with. Still Howard could possibly transfer to Miami Heat, especially if the rumor about Hassan Whiteside walking away would be included in the equation. Whiteside who will become a free agent in the offseason could sign for a lucrative deal elsewhere, like with the Rocket, bringing with him his current record averaging 12.1 points and 10.5 points on top of 4.0 blocks per game this season. If you would view it that way, Whiteside and other Heat players could possibly be traded for Dwight Howard.
