Raiders’ Matt Schaub Discounts Houston Home’s Price to $4.09 Million

Matt Schaub, the quarterback for NFL team "Oakland Raiders", has reportedly given his home in Houston, Texas, a price chop listing it at $4.09 million.

Schaub first put the home on the market for $4.29 million this June, just a few months after he was traded to the Raiders after playing seven seasons for the Houston Texans.

"A fresh start can do a lot of things for a player and a team and I'm one of those guys," Schaub said of the trade, according to ESPN.

"I'm looking for a fresh start, I'm excited for the opportunity here," he added.

Since, Schaub was moving to the bay area of San Francisco, the home's listing didnt come as a surprise. However, sitting unclaimed for a few months now, the residence got a slight price cut.

Property records show that Schaub bought the home in 2009, his third season with the Houston Texans when he led the team to a 9-7 record victory.

The house is a 10,840-sqaure-foot single-family house, comprising of five bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms.

The residence features plush interiors with hardwood flooring, French doors and windows and high vaulted ceilings.

The entrance opens into a grand foyer that has a wrought-iron-railing staircase leading upstairs.

The lower level has a sitting area with a fireplace and custom cabinetry. There is a dining area, a reception hall, a recreation room, a gym, a screening theater and modern eat-in kitchen.

The master bedroom has an en-suite master bathroom. It also has a dressing room.

Outside, the home has a covered patio, a pool, ample greens with a children's play area and a three-car garage as well.

Laura Sakowitz Sweeney of John Daugherty Realtors is the listing agent. More photos of the home here.

Schaub has been a two-time Pro Bowler and crossed 4,000 passing yards three times in his career. His previous season wasn't too good, but experts are confident that Schaub is one player to look out for.

"People look at Schaub and only look at his last year," Raiders safety Charles Woodson told ESPN.

"I think they base his career off of his last year. But I see a guy that, in my opinion, has been very steady. He's done some really good things throughout his time. Sometimes you just need a fresh start, a new set of circumstances to restart, to restart your history. Hopefully this is the place that he can get it done."
