"Arrow" Season 4 recently saw Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) being shot multiple times.
In "Dark Waters," Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was obviously worried as to whether or not his girlfriend will survive the attack. According to Design & Trend, it is highly likely that Felicity wouldn't be killed off, especially since her relationship with Oliver is just starting. With this, Felicity may reportedly return in the second half of "Arrow" Season 4, but she may be paralyzed.
Meanwhile, the teaser released for "Arrow" Season 4 episode 11 features Felicity being operated on at a hospital. By the looks of it, the shooting may have caused serious damage to her organs.
There are rumors that the shooting from the first half of Season 4 was done so that Felicity could transition into becoming the Oracle. In the Batman universe, Barbara Gordon became the Oracle after she survived a shooting. Unfortunately, this left her paralyzed from the waist down.
"If Marc Guggenheim and the rest of the 'Arrow' staff have indeed planned to make this happen, Felicity's shooting was a perfect set-up. Still, there are some pretty substantial holes in the theory. Considering that Rickards has been seen on set walking around with an engagement right that she wasn't wearing when she was shot, it doesn't seem likely that Felicity has become paralyzed," the publication noted.
In other news, photos from the set of "Arrow" Season 4 also show Felicity wearing the engagement ring that Oliver was supposed to give to her very early on in the season. There are rumors that Oliver will put the ring on Felicity's finger while she's laying unconscious on the hospital bed.
Still, the good news for all of Oliver and Felicity's fans is that the latter will survive, and there's still a chance that the two of them will wed later on in the season.
"Arrow" Season 4 will return to The CW sometime next year.
