Reese Witherspoon, the "Legally Blonde" actress, has reportedly purchased a recently-renovated home in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles for $12.7 million.
The Trulia Blog broke news of the purchase noting that the deal was a hush-hush matter and it closed August 28, 2014. Apparently, the home was not for sale publicly.
Property records at Redfin show that the house last sold publicly for $4.9 million in December 2012. While it is uncertain if the square footage of the home has been expanded or not, records show that the house spans an area of 4,344 square feet.
The records also reveal that the house has five bedrooms and five and half bathrooms.
Old photos of the home show light hardwood flooring, drywall ceilings and large glass windows and doors.
Interiors of the two-storey residence include a family room, a dining area, a chef's kitchen and a formal living room.
Outside, the home has a pool, a grassy yard with ample lounging areas, a covered patio and two parking garages.
News of the purchase comes just a month after Witherspoon picked up a home in Nashville, Tenn., for $1.95 million. The owners apparently sold on a condition that the buyers will not tear down the property, but reports suggest that the "Sweet Home Alabama" actress is planning a renovation.
Witherspoon also has two properties in Brentwood Circle, Los Angeles on the market. As per the deal, the main residence is available for $10.5 million and an adjacent parcel of land is also being offered for $3.5 million making the deal worth $14 million and increasing the lot size to about 1.3 acres.
In December last year, Witherspoon unloaded her ranch in Ojai for $4.9 million - the one where Robert Pattinson sought refuge in after his "Twilight Saga" co-star girlfriend Kristen Stewart cheated on him with "Snowhite and the Huntsmen" director Rupert Sanders.
