The Sony Xperia Z6 body is expected to contain more metal.
Sony smartphones hardcore fans are heavily expecting the Xperia Z6. It is believed to be in the works and may be looking differently from the previous phones of the Japanese tech giant.
Sony Xperia Z6's large bezel along the edge of the screen is an Xperia trademark and all Xperia phones have this. Although the frame is made of metal, other elements are incorporated into the Xperia design, such as glass. The Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium used metal and glass. Plastic and metal combinations can be seen with the Xperia Z5 Compact.
The Sony Xperia Z6 is said to be moving away from the Omni-Balance design that has been incorporated since the Z series came out in 2013. The current design, a mixture of metal and glass, is not creating the attention that the Japanese phone maker wants, therefore, a design revision is in need. The new Sony Xperia Z6 will then be concentrating more on metal body parts, TechRadar reported.
With this in mind, Sony will then be having a line-up of full metal smartphones.
Sony is also rumored to be releasing two models of its flagship phone by next year. The Xperia Z6 will be revealed around June 2016 and an Xperia Z7 by October of the same year. It is also said there will be only two models for the Z6 instead of five, a rumor which has circulated early on. Therefore, Sony might be a no show in the CES 2016 and MWC 2016 since they will have nothing to announce, unless there are actually other Sony electronic products secretly being developed right now.
Sony Xperia Z6 is said to have a 5.5-inch IPS Triluminos display and is capable of providing a 4K resolution. It will have a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for screen protection and will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC clocked at 3.0 Ghz. It will also have an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM, Android Standard reported.
