Bates Motel Season 4 Spoilers: Jamie Ray Newman To Guest Star In Season 4

Jamie Ray Newman checks in at A&E's "Bates Motel" for the upcoming fourth season.

Deadline first reported about Newman's newest casting role as Rebecca Hamilton in the mystery series. Her character is described as the former lover of Sheriff Alex Romero (Nestor Carbonell). She will return again in his life because Rebecca is "still very much in love" with him.

This is Newman’s latest acting gig since the cancellation of the ABC series "Wicked City" starring Ed Westwick and Erika Christensen. Newman took the role of Allison Roth. The crime drama series was cancelled after three episodes due to its low ratings. It is the first cancelled show for the 2015-2016 TV season.

Newman was also seen in "Mind Games," "Bosch," "Satisfaction" and "Red Widow." She appeared in various of films in 2013 including "Game of Assassins," "Altered Minds" and "Tarzan."

Moreover, TV Line reported that Season 4 will begin with the aftermath of the cliffhanger-filled third season. It was confirmed by executive producer Kerry Ehrin.

"Bradley had just been killed, Norman thinks his mother did it, the actual Norma has no idea where her son is, Emma’s going in for a lung transplant. So there are a lot of threads we [wanted] to pick up immediately,” Ehrin said.

"Bates Motel" is the modern adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" movie. It focused more on the relationship of mother-and-son duo, Norma (Vera Farmiga) and Norman Bates (Freddy Highmore).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series became the first longest-running series in A&E. It was picked up for a two-season order last June.

The renewal came despite "Bates Motel"'s low-rated premiere with 0.9 rating and only 2.1 million viewers in the 18-49 age bracket.

"Bates Motel" stars Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Max Thieriot, Olivia Cooke, Nicola Peltz, Nestor Carbonell and Kenny Johnson.

"Bates Motel" returns next year on A&E.
