The Mindy Project Season 4 Cast News: Fortune Feimster Promoted To Series Regular

"The Mindy Project" Season 4 newcomer Fortune Feimster has secured a deal to become a regular cast member of Hulu's romantic-comedy series.

According to Deadline, the streaming service has promoted Feimster from a recurring role after joining "The Mindy Project" earlier this season. Feimster portrays the character Colette Kimball, a new office nurse. She is Jody Kimball-Kinney's lesbian sister.

Hulu picked up the Universal TV series after its third season concluded on Fox. The rom-com revolving around work romance premiered in September and streams every Tuesday. It is currently on mid-season break.

Feimster is a writer and an actress. Her writing credits include more than 500 episodes for the "Chelsea Lately" TV series from 2011 to 2014. She also wrote for "Funny as Hell" (2013) and "Hot Girl Walks By" (2015). She appeared in "2 Broke Girls" (2014) and "After Lately" (2011-2013).

Meanwhile, the mid-season finale of "The Mindy Project" has left fans wondering about Mindy and Danny's relationship. Based on the turn of events in the last few minutes of the finale, it looks like the two are heading to splitsville. Danny left Mindy to take care of their son on her own, in addition to juggling two jobs. When the last episode showed a flashback to when the two first met, fans show a glimpse of hope. But then the heroine has returned to her apartment and has removed the "For Sale" sign. Will she and Danny be able to reconcile or finally call it quits?

"The Mindy Project" is written and created by Mindy Kaling. Fox cancelled the show after Season 3. And when Hulu picked it up, Mindy said that the new season will be different, said Entertainment Weekly. The episodes become longer, the jokes dirtier. And things feel more real for fans from being superficial and lighthearted.

"The Mindy Project" returns on Hulu in Spring 2016.
