'General Hospital' Star Jonathan Jackson Earned A Nomination For His 'Nashville' Performance; Will He Return To Port Charles?

"General Hospital" alum fan favorite, Jonathan Jackson, who played the role of Lucky Spencer, is said to go back to the show as part of Liz Webber's scandal. However, things seem to go on different path for the busy actor who just got nominated for his performance in ABC's "Nashville."

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Jackson just got nominated for Critic's Choice Award as Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Jackson will be competing with Christian Slater for USA's "Mr. Robot," Clayne Crawford for Sundance's "Rectify," Christopher Eccleston for HBO's "The Leftovers," Andre Holland for Cinemax's "The Knick," and Rufus Sewell for Amazon's "The Man in the High Castle." It looks like Jonathan is up for some tight competition.

Jonathan's nomination came as no surprise. "General Hospital" fans already know how good actor he is. When it comes to his work in "Nashville," it is beyond impressive, a thumbs up for Avery Barkley.

Meanwhile, with the success that Jonathan gets in his show in ABC, will he still get time to visit Port Charles and check on his former wife, Liz?

It has been known that Liz just came from a devastating breakup with Jason Morgan and this is the perfect time for Lucky to visit her and offer a shoulder to cry on. Lucky is the perfect person for Liz to share all her heartaches and sentiments since he knows about Jason's identity secret.

Back in June, Soap Opera Spy reported that Jonathan was set to reprise his role as Lucky along with Nathan Parsons who plays the role of Ethan Lovett. Both actors were booked for a short appearance on "GH." They just appeared on the show to bid goodbye to their character's dad, Luke Spencer who was then played by Anthony Geary.

The Critic's Choice Awards Gala is set to air on Jan. 17 on A&E and Lifetime networks.
