The Internet went crazy over the weekend when rumors started swirling around that the late Tupac Shakur is alive. Of course, it isn't true - it's just Demetrius Shipp, Jr., an actor who looks a lot like 2pac for the upcoming biopic, "All Eyez On Me."
Although there are many conspiracy theories about his death, Tupac's name surfaced on the media just recently, after photos of the rap legend on set came about.
But as it turned out, the photos were of Shipp, Jr. - who's "getting his big break playing Pac in Morgan Creek Production's "All Eyez On Me," as reported by TMZ.
Apparently, producer L.T. Hutton was the one to approach Shipp for the role, and even told him to take some acting lessons. Jamal Woodard will be reprising his role as Christopher "Biggie" Wallace - commonly known as Notorious B.I.G. - from the 2009 film, "Notorious."
According to the Mirror, the biopic is reportedly going to follow Tupac's life - from his birth until his untimely death - at a mere 25 years old - in 1996.
Hollywood Life remembers Tupac, and recalls his controversial death:
"Tupac's death is one of the most discussed tragedies in the music business. Murdered at such a young age, the rapper had such unexplored talent taken away from him; his album, 'All Eyez On Me,' for which the biopic is named, is one of the best-selling albums in the United States. [...] On the night of September 7, 1996, Tupac was shot multiple times in Las Vegas by unknown assailants who pulled up next to his car. One of the bullets punctured his lung, and he was placed on life support machines, in a medically induced coma. On the night of September 13, 1996, Tupac died; the cause of death was determined to be respiratory failure and cardiopulmonary arrest in connection with multiple gunshot wounds."
Tupac net worth is $40 million, approximately.
