Michael Sam is now receiving a lot of negative responses for posting spoilers of the globally acclaimed installment of the "Star Wars" Saga, "Star Wars; The Force Awakens."
The movie launching of the said movie has broken quite a number of blockbuster records. It has reached $50 million worth of sales on its first night and is expected to reach 250 million by the end of the first week after its premiere.
There will be spoilers in the following paragraphs. Please do not read on if you do not wish to see spoilers.
The former National Football League player's fans are not pleased about Sam's inconsiderate tweet. Sam has deleted the tweet a few minutes after posting but the damage has already been done.
Here is Sam's tweet:
"So the last time I saw a grown man cry during a movie was when #Mufasa died in #lionking. RIP #HanSolo."
It can be inferred from the 25-year-old football player's tweet that Han Solo must have died in the new Star Wars installment. This was a major plot that would have blown the minds out of the entire Star Wars fan-base but Sam was not careful enough an burst a million bubbles on his twitter post.
The tweet was posted Dec. 18 a few hours after its world premiere. After deleting his tweet, Sam posted, "Oops."
One of Sam's fans Heather Allen tweeted: "Michael Sam just possibly tweeted a Star Wars spoiler. Whether it was just a joke or not, that earned him an unfollow lol."
Not everyone is hating on Sam for the careless post on Twitter. A few of his fans defended the NFL player and pointed out that people who did not want to see spoilers should take the liberty to stay away from social media.
The internet is self-updating by nature and people posting spoilers are inevitable.
