Gamers Are Using 'Star Wars Battlefront' Xbox Live Messages To Leak Spoilers

For an all-time box office hit like "Star Wars," it is really difficult to keep spoilers contained.

According to GameSpot, people are leaking spoilers for "Star Wars: Episode VII the Force Awakens" even through "Star Wars Battlefront" Xbox Live Messages. While efforts are being made to keep spoilers from leaking on the Internet, extra-innovative fans of the video game "Star Wars Battlefront" have found another way of spilling spoilers through the PC version of the game.

According to a Reddit forum, one technique being used is through the gamer's avatar in Battlefront. To elaborate, many players have changed their avatars to contain content that reveal spoilers. Luckily, this only applies to PC versions therefore at the moment, according to GameSpot, Xbox One and PS 4 version are still spoiler free.

In the meantime, it has become hard to tell if people are trolling at the NeoGAF forums but a thread has been ongoing for the topic, "Star Wars Spoilers Being Sent Through XBL Messages." And one forum participant has revealed, "So yeah, turns out people are going through their Recent Players list and sending spoiler messages. I just had the movie spoiled for me by some random doucher, so be careful folks and don't open any messages from people you don't know. Sorry if this doesn't belong here but I figured if was worth warning people."

But on a more serious note, all the sane participants of these forums, in various forms, are extending the message, "To be careful out there--in games and everywhere else--if you're trying to avoid Force Awakens spoilers."

The seventh instalment of "Star Wars" still continues to break box office records. According to GSM Arena, the force is strong enough to garner $517 million in the weekend of its release. Specifically, $279 million came from cinemas outside of the United States, while $238 million came from domestic sales.

Those who have not watched the movie yet may want to hurry before the spoilers get to them.
