'Twin Peaks': Second Trailer Released for Show's Revival in 2017

"Twin Peaks" released a second trailer which is one way to inform fans that the show is indeed happening.

The trailer is a 50-second clip that brings fans into the foggy north-west American location of Twin Peaks. It also announces that the long-awaited third season of the cult hit has already started production.

“Location sometimes becomes a character. There’s a lot of holy places up here, a lot of sacred places. I can’t put my finger on how I would describe it, it just touches something in the psyche, it’s almost like being in a moving painting,” original actor Michael Horse, who played Deputy Hawk in the cult 90s series said on the trailer.

The clip also had a voice over that "tells how the location became a character in itself," The Celebrity Cafe noted. It also features some workers unveiling a sign that says, “Welcome to Twin Peaks.”

CBS chief Les Moonves confirmed that the new season will not premiere before 2017, Variety reported. Said statement was also supported by Co-creator Mark Frost.

"Twin Peaks" was supposed to air in 2016 to mark the show's 25th anniversary. It originally ran for two seasons on ABC from 1990 to 1991, and was followed by the film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me."

Meanwhile, the new series was initially announced as a nine-episode season, but reports reveal that there would be more episodes.

David Lynch and Mark Frost will be returning for Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival. The two is rumored to be joined by Amanda Seyfried and returning star Kyle MacLachlan. It is also reported that Peter Sarsgaard will join the cast in "an unspecified recurring role," TV Line teased.

The production of the show was pushed back due to a contract dispute between Lynch and Showtime, but said issue was quickly fixed because apparently, the show will not be possible with the involvement of Lynch.
