Jordan Smith's reign as "The Voice" Season 9 Grand Winner comes as no surprise. Having beaten Adele on iTunes, he has also become the biggest selling "The Voice" artist in the show's history.
His fans can expect a new album from him early this 2016. And before he plans his next move, Smith reveals more about his music, his dream performances and how is it working with Adam Levigne.
Ever since the beginning of the show, Jordan Smith stood out among the contestants because of his positive message of telling America that it's okay to be imperfect. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said, "I think that the greatest thing we can do as humans is connect with other humans."
"I wanted to inspire hope and emotion and joy in people. I think music is most powerful when it's not only sung, but lived," he added.
Smith since day one had made bold choices about music. He identifies that song selection is crucial to the whole show. He wanted to sing songs that he can connect with. But more than that, he wanted to sing music which he enjoys.
It is also a good factor that he and Coach Adam Levigne have a good working relationship.
Having been able to sing with a lot of performers during the show, Smith has a list of artists he wants to perform with in the future and working with Tori Kelly and Adele tops his list. "I would love to sing with Adele if that was ever possible. If it was just me and her in a bus station one day and an open mic, whatever it is I would love to have the chance to hear her voice in person and sing with her," he explains.
Many may have wondered how Smith was able to outshine the rest of the contenders, but, the coaches and the public viewers must have seen something in him that made him deserving of the title.
