‘Ray Donovan’ Season 4 Premiere Date & News: Show Confirmed for 2016; Terry & Abby’s Flirtation Won’t Continue in New Season

While fans await news on Season 4 of "Ray Donovan," it was recently announced that the TV series' new season has been confirmed for 2016; however, the exact date is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, while details on the show's upcoming season are scarce, earlier reports claimed that Terry (Eddie Marsan) and Abby's (Paula Malcomson) flirtation, which was seen in Season 3, won't continue in Season 4.

According to MNR Daily, "Ray Donovan" has been renewed for Season 4, and according to the official site of the show, the series will come back on the small screen in 2016, but no specific date has been announced yet. Realty Today previously reported that Ray (Live Schreiber) will have a new love life in a new city in Season 4. Though that's the case, it was said that the show will still be mostly shot in LA.

Meanwhile, a previous report claimed that Terry and Abby's seemingly budding romance back in Season 3 won't continue in Season 4. In an interview with TV Line, showrunner David Hollander said that Terry and Abby won't take their flirtation forward in the new season.

"In talking to Eddie this year, he made it clear to me that a lot of his internal monologue was channeling the voice of Terry's mother - the morality, the center, the judge, the caregiver... So I think Terry was providing comfort and love [to Abby] and that slipped a little toward the loneliness. But it's not a triangulated love story. Terry is not going to steal Abby from Ray," he said. "He will always regret [kissing her]. And, in a way, Terry will perceive what he did as one of the reasons he got shot."

"Ray Donovan" Season 4 will return with 12 one-hour episodes in 2016.
