NBA Rumors: Brooklyn Nets to Acquire Dwight Howard; Nets Answer to Howard’s Unhappiness

It seems like there is no stopping the rumor mill, as it once again included Dwight Howard in its rumors. According to previous issues, Howard was reportedly unhappy staying in the Houston Rockets.  The reported feeling of Howard is said to be rooted on the frustration playing as a second man to James Harden. According to nvonews;

"Dwight Howard is unhappy in his present team. He seems to have some major issues with teammate James Harden and there are reasons to believe he abhors playing second fiddle to him despite being a 'better' performer."

The said issue was immediately denied by Howard. In his statement via latinpost, Howard stated that, "I haven't said anything to anybody about anything. People make up lies and rumors. I'm trying to get these guys to play better and myself to play better. People say what they got to say to get a story out." Despite the said denial, some speculations are proliferating the internet and it would likely not stop until the trade deadline, which is two months from now.

Rumors about Howard leaving the Rockets is somehow feasible, especially that he may opt out his contract following the 2015-16 season. And perhaps that is one of the many reason why these said rumors are so persistent. And just recently, another rumor connected to the first one has surfaced, detailing a possible transfer of Howard to Brooklyn Nets. Chris Crouse of hooprumors shared via NJ;

"The Nets would get a new face of the franchise in Howard and a talented point guard in Lawson, who could play besides Jarrett Jack to give the Nets a somewhat exciting backcourt, something they lacked for quite some time." The report also added that, "the Rockets would add two proven scoring options to help ease Harden's burden on the offensive end and they would get younger at the center position. Adding Lopez, whose Player Efficiency Rating is 20.49 this season, would give the team an All-Star whose career is on the same trajectory as Harden's and they would form a more lethal duo than the Harden-Howard pairing."

If indeed true, then transferring to other teams like the Brooklyn Nets may actually serve as the possible cure of Howard's unhappiness.
