NASA News: StarCraft Protoss Silica Discovered, Is the Video Game For Real?

For most video gamers and alien conspiracy enthusiast, this new discovery would definitely be of great interest. If you have been around for quite some time in the gaming world, the game StarCraft would really ring a bell. One of the most familiar characters that are usually being used would perhaps be the Protoss race.

In the said world of real-time strategy video game, this race was made completely of element, such as silica. Most of this mineral, Silica, are considerably abundant here on earth, but some its kind are rare such as tridymite. Tridymite is a very rare mineral which "generally forms at high temperatures in volcanic or metamorphic rocks, not a finely layered sedimentary rock like Buckskin," said Dr. Elizabeth Rampe via nytimes.

In line with the idea of StarCraft Protoss race silica, a discovery of vast amount Tridymite was reported. There was a huge deposit of it found not here on earth but in Mars. According to reports;

"NASA announced this news of silica found on Mars just recently. They said that the rover discovered tridymite, which is a very rare mineral. The company said that the NASA Curiosity used its laser named ChemCam to detect the silica. NASA also stated that this mineral was found on the higher hydrogen level areas of Mars. A member of NASA actually stated that they themselves do not fully understand the high silica levels. He mentions how they are a puzzle."

This is indeed an important discovery made by NASA. And it somehow strikes curiosity on what other elements or materials can be found in Mars. Others would even stretch the report with their imagination of some ancient civilization in Mars possibly capable of a StarCraft Protoss like technology. Guess we would just have to wait for some updates in order to fully determine what happened to Mars and what the story behind the red planet is.
