Christmas is a few days away and apart from the holiday feasts that both children and adults enjoy during this season, Christmas and lights displays are also tagged as some of the best things about the holidays. Elaborate Christmas decorations could bring the Christmas spirit even to the most pessimist people.
To bring you closer to the best displays in the US, Trulia has rounded up some of the neighborhood that display the most exceptional Christmas designs around the country.
If you want quieter surroundings compared to the big fancy displays at Rockefeller Center, you can go to Brooklyn in the Dyker Heights neighborhood. They have been putting up different Christmas lights ranging from those that were set up by professionals, to those that were DIY-ed.
People from New Mexico opted for a more toned down concept, putting out small lanterns on Canyon road every Christmas eve. Though it is not as elaborate as the others, strolling down the streets where these 'farolitos' still exude the Christmas spirit that we all want to feel this time of the year.
In San Francisco, Tom Taylor and Jerry Goldstein have been decorating their house as a huge Christmas village, and it is a tradition that is looked forward to by their neighbors. People are now expecting them to put up something better than the previous year. Tom Taylor shares, "I guess we had better keep on doing it, whether we like it or not." But certainly the two still enjoy giving their villagers something to be excited about every year.
The 'Peacock Lane' in Portland Oregon, has also become so popular because of its decorations. People from different states are actually travelling to the village just to see the light displays. The homeowners in the popular Christmas street are more than gracious to their visitors, as they allegedly will be serving hot chocolate and cider during viewing time. What a nice Christmas tradition indeed.
