The latest Lamar Odom's updates seem to tell a sad development about the former NBA star. He has been confined at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for nearly two months, but there's no good news that could be said of Khloe Kardashian's husband. Odom's poor state of health plus a growing hospital bill amounting to millions apparently worries his loved ones. Odom's most recent updates triggered speculations if the reality star is liable to pay her husband's medical bills.
According to a source of Entertainment Online (ET), Odom is still not doing great despite all the intervention in his health. His doctors are also claiming that the cost of his treatment is alarming now that the bill has gone up to millions. ET has consulted an expert in healthcare who gave a view of Odom's present medical bill.
"Just your basic hospital stay usually runs about $10,000 a night," explained Shana Alex Charles, Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Science at California State University, Fullerton. "Cedars-Sinai is not basic care, and [Odom's] kind of incident is not basic, so you can just assume that it's going to be much higher than that, maybe even as high as $30,000 to $50,000 per night, which adds up very quickly."
Another bad news about Odom's updates is the 36-year-old is not doing well and sometimes forgets his own name, NBC Sports reports via INQUISITR. Odom was found unresponsive on Oct. 13 at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch in Las Vegas, and since then, he has been battling for his life. As soon as he woke up, he struggled walking, talking ,and it was even reported that he had organ failure.
As to who will be liable to pay Odom's medical bills if things get worse, it was said that "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star may still be pressed to pay the bills. She is still legally married to Odom after all.
"Since [Khloe and Lamar are] still married and these bills relating to his treatment are [considered] debt, they are going to be presumed as a family obligation," Ryan Stearns, a family law expert from the Stearns Kim & Stearns law firm in Torrance, California told ET. "However, there are some [legal] exceptions ... which provide that debts incurred while married, but for non-necessaries of life, should be the separate responsibility of the spouse that incurs the debt.
What can you say about Odom's medical bill and health updates?
