Adele is getting rid of her nasty habits.
This could be the British singer's New Year's resolution. Adele has revealed last Friday that she has stopped smoking because of fears that the habit would eventually kill her. According to Mirror, the 27-year-old singer had been smoking 25 cigarettes per day since 2011 when she had to cancel her shows because of problems with her voice. Adele said, "If I'd carried on smoking I'd probably have died from a smoking-related illness and I think that's really bad."
She added, "If I was dying from lung cancer I would have potentially given it to myself and that wouldn't be something I'd be proud of."
According to ET, the other good reason that Adele is quitting the bad habit is because of her son, Angelo, whom she shares with her long-time boyfriend Simon Konecki. "I absolutely loved it, but it's not that f**king cool when I'm dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is, like, devastated," she reportedly said in an interview with Rolling Stone.
She also told the magazine last month that she is saying good bye to her drinking as well. Speaking of which she said, "I used to be able to drink anyone under the table and still be able to put on an all-right show." She admits though that now she is limited to about one drink per week, then says, "But with kids, hangovers are torture. They just know. They pick up on it and just go for you."
And while she says "Good bye" to her bad routines, she is saying "Hello" more often to her fans. According to ET, she will be busy with lots of tours in the next couple of months.
Adele's latest album is titled "25," which was released last November 2015.
