Chris Pine has always played the lead role in action films but he also doesn't mind to give the ladies the spotlight. When asked about how he felt to be a part of the new "Wonder Woman" film, the actor said he was thrilled to be working with Gal Gadot.
"It'll be a f***ing blast," Pine told Total Film. "I couldn't be happier to be supporting Gal Gadot in what's going to be the first female-driven superhero film."
Pine also shared some powerful opinion that made feminists give their seal of approval. "I think in the world today we've had plenty enough of male-driven everything. It's finally time to see how wonderful the world can be with beautiful, strong, intelligent women kicking some major a**," the actor added.
Pine is slated to play the role of Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman's love interest in the upcoming film. Wonder Woman and Trevor's relationship is not a typical one as roles are going to be reversed. Instead of the woman being the damsel in destress, Trevor will assume that role.
While it is certain that we will be seeing Pine in the film, it was recently revealed that actress Nicole Kidman, despite the rumors, will not be appearing in "Wonder Woman." It has been rumored that Kidman was set to play the role of Hippolyta, Wonder Woman's mother and queen of the Amazon.
Pine, however, said that since the Australian actress' "dates didn't work out," it is possible that the role will be given to Robin Wright. There is also a chance that the production will opt for another actress.
"In fact Wright's deal for her unknown role had closed before Kidman even had an offer, so we'll just have to see what ends up happening," Kroll tweeted.
"Wonder Woman" is slated to be released on June 23, 2017.
