Casa do Rio is a beautiful and romantic hotel right within a winery in Portugal.
This six unit boutique hotel was designed by Menos é Mais' Architect Francisco Vieira de Campos within Quinta Do Vallado Winery. The hotel's highlight is its location as the structure is literally within the hillside, vineyards and it is right above a scenic river.
The hotel itself is simple; in the living room, the walls are painted white, and the living room sets have the beige and brown palettes . A huge painting of a lake and the quaint fireplace serve as accents in the common area wherein all of the guests could lounge around.
There is also a small kitchen with white interiors, a kitchen island, and a small tablewhere guests could have brunches or coffee.
The bedrooms are more fancy looking, with romantic lighting, soft interior and linen palettes. Each of the six rooms has its own balcony with a table for two, which has amazing views of the rest of the vineyard as well as the river.
Though the view is enough for you to enjoy your stay at this hotel, there is also additional amenities including this magical infinity edge pool which is also settled on the hillside. There are lounging chairs for hanging out by the pool, perhaps while sipping wine or cocktail during night time.
The state and winery has been passed from generation to generation of the Ferreira family, and is now commercialized through the Ferreira Port House. Family members helped develop the property and business into the institution that it currently is. Apart from providing quality aged wines and servicing guests in their hotel, the owners are committed to doing their social responsibility.
According to their website, "...whenever the wine Quinta do Vallado Adelaide is produced, 100 Portuguese personalities are invited to acquire two bottles each of the top wine from Quinta do Vallado; The proceeds from this sale are given to Associação Vila Nova. The 1st edition of this project took place with vintage 2005."
