NBA Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics Made David Lee Available for Potential Trades

The rumor mill has once again started some new rumors, and this time around it involves the Boston Celtics. Celtic which ranks 10 in the Eastern Conference is now being rumored to be trading David Lee. According to some reports, the 32 year old veteran has been made available for possible trades, and one of the reasons behind is the lack of time for David Lee. According to celticsblog;

"The Celtics have been very solid, but Coach Brad Stevens has a minutes problem, as evidenced by the lack of time for David Lee-whose expiring contract is available, per league sources."

With Lee's contract almost to expire, the rumor makes much sense especially that his role in the team has become more limited. Despite the fact that Lee's overall performance is not that bad, coach Brad Stevens still opted to put Lee on the bench. However, the said limited playing time given did not discourage the veteran player, hence he even asked coach Stevens for some advice in order to better his game and have more playing time. Lee shared via NJ that,

"He respects that I went and talked to him. You know to go to your coach and say, 'Hey what do I need to do better? How do I try to earn more minutes?' It's not how can I get more minutes to get better stats or to get more attention, it's knowing I could help the team."

However, there was not much of change made on Lee's playing time as of the moment. That is why he was able to realize that, "All I can do ... is be ready to play 25, 30 (minutes), but realize that's not going to be the case most nights," Lee said. "I can choose to be frustrated by it or I can choose to make the most out of my time and make a positive contribution and find a way to do it in different ways."

Lee being part on a trade deal is something to watch for, aside from the fact that Celtics might get some game changer from the market, the Celtics could also "return something of value to the Celtics, especially given his $15.493 million contract."
