NBA Rumors: Golden State Warriors Looking to Trade Marreese Speights for Channing Frye; Speights Still Looking for His Form

The Golden State Warriors is indeed in a good shape and off with a good start this season. In the start of their campaign, the Warriors were 23 and 0 until their historical pursuit was stopped by the Bucks. Nevertheless, the team still has the top spot of the Western Conference with 26 wins and 1 loss. This said achievement is undeniably because of their main men, Stephen Curry, Klay Thomson, Draymond Green and the others. And it seems like this team will not be opting for a trade till the end of the season.

However, the said inactivity of the Warriors when it comes to the trading block would possibly meet its end. According to some reports the Golden State Warriors are having some questions regarding their roster's depth and capacity of some of their bench players. According to Monte Poole of CSN, Warriors' general manager Bob Myers is currently minding a possible trade. Poole shared via goldenstateofmind that;

"Warriors general manager Bob Myers, like most executives, doesn't talk trade-possibility specifics. But he surely realizes that when Curry, Thompson and Green are off the floor, scoring comes with considerable toil and strife. The front office is studying the trade market, because if Speights can't find his form, and soon, the Warriors will seek out another stretch four, somebody Walton or Kerr can call when they need a scoring punch."

Indeed there is a possibility that the defending champion might trade Marreese Speights as he struggles to find his form. The said news may come of a shock for some Warriors fans, especially that their team is seemingly unbeatable. However, when it comes to the playoff, the Warriors would really want to make a run and in order to do so some improvements are needed; and it may include trading some players for better ones.

Though the trade deal involving Speights has not yet been confirmed, it is being "suggested that the Warriors might be interested in pursuing a deal for Channing Frye, a stretch big who would seem to fit the role of a post scorer off the bench," reported goldenstateofmind. The Warriors has once shown interest over Frye during the 2014 offseason, before the Orlando Magic signed him in. It would be ideal for the Magic to trade Frye to lessen the personnel redundancy in their roster, while on the other hand "Frye is quite an intriguing target for the exact same reason he was interesting in 2014: court spacing," added goldenstateofmind.
