Fans will be having another drama series to expect from ABC as it accepted a script from one of the writers of AMC hit, “Fear the Walking Dead.”
Deadline reported that the show is entitled, “Please Don’t Go,” and is currently under development. Reese Witherspoon is the executive producer of the show, together with writer and producer Meaghan Oppenheimer, who was one of the writers of the hit series, ‘Fear The Walking Dead.'
The show follows the growing trend of shows that talked about divorce. ABC is also currently working with Nicholas Sparks and producer Shonda Rhimes on two other divorced-theme series.
Moreover, Deadline also reported, "Please Don’t Go follows the personal and professional life of a ruthless divorce attorney in Dallas. Raised in the trailer parks of Texas, she has left behind a life of struggle amid squalor, working her way into a corner office and mansion in Dallas’ most prestigious neighborhood. But beneath her facade of togetherness, she’s plagued by self-destructive tendencies and long hidden family secrets that begin to unravel her life.”
Meaghan Oppenheimer is an actress and a writer. She has written screenplays of We Are Your Friends for Warner Bros. and Working Title, and The Remains. She is known for writing for “Not Fade Away” episode of Fear The Walking Dead, AMC’s hit pre-quel of The Walking Dead. She also wrote Hot Mess. Moreover, she is currently writing feature Kelly Jackson for Temple Hill and Fox 2000.
With the new shows that talks about divorce that are about to hit the airwaves, it only shows the pervasiveness of such theme in the households. According to Hollywood Reporter, the divorce trend has something to do with networks being desperate to find themes that are unique and different from the usual themes shown on TV.
