GoPro Hero 5 News: Upcoming Camera Will Be Released With 'Karma' Drone

GoPro, a popular American manufacturer of action cameras, has announced on Wednesday, that it will release a new drone which will be called "Karma." However, recent reports suggest that some features of the "Karma" drone are expected to be integrated in its soon-to-be-released camera, the GoPro Hero 5, Ecumenical News said.

"GoPro has revealed that its camera-equipped drone, which is set to arrive sometime in the first half of 2016. To refresh your memory, the company teased the UAV back in October with test footage that was likely filmed at least at 2.5K resolution, judging by the 1440p YouTube viewing option (it re-used the same footage in the latest tease). The company also boasted that the smooth video wasn't stabilized in post-production, so the drone is no doubt equipped with a decent gimbal," Engadget said.

Meanwhile, the company's GoPro Hero 5 was heavily reported to be released in 2016. It can be recalled that the rumored action camera was originally slated to be released back in October this year. However, the company has postponed the 2015 release date. This is reportedly because GoPro Inc. is developing a new product prior to the release of the most anticipated action camera, the Hero 5.

"GoPro has not provided any reason behind the delay of the Hero 5 but it is widely expected that the camera will have several advancements compared to the current Hero 4.  Another belief is that one of its main features is going to be the ability to operate underwater at a depth of 60 meters. If this particular rumor turns out to be true, it could mean that the Hero 5 will come with a better waterproof housing compared to the one used on the Hero 4," the report said.

The GoPro Hero 5 camera was also rumored to record videos in 8K resolution. Although it has not yet been confirmed by the company, tech analysts believe that such feature will surely be integrated in the camera since new televisions are now capable of playing 8k type of videos.
