On Wednesday, China-based mobile manufacturing company Huawei revealed that it will soon launch its new flagship smartphone, Huawei Mate 8. It was said that the company is planning to launch the new smartphone at CES in Las Vegas in January. However, it is not yet clear if the flagship smartphone will be sold in the U.S., a report from iDigital Times said.
"Huawei, the world's third largest smartphone manufacturer, is known best as a low-end smartphone manufacturer in the U.S. However, to the rest of the world, the smartphone maker rivals the likes of Samsung and Apple. Devices like the Huawei Honor 7 have been top sellers in Eastern markets, selling out within minutes during the famous flash sales hosted by Chinese smartphone manufacturers, including Huawei and Xiaomi," the report said.
"Huawei's latest smartphone to come as part of its Mate lineup is the Mate 8, which will launch running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company has unveiled the phone and revealed some details about it, but a formal announcement with all of the details are expected at CES 2016. The Mate 8 will feature a 6-inch 1080p display, which is lower than what we've been seeing most of the industry doing on the larger panels. Inside, the Mate 8 will feature Huawei's recently-detailed Kirin 950 processor which is octa-core and offers advanced power saving," Android Central reports.
It can be recalled that Wall Street Journal previously reported that Huawei Mate 8 will likely be sold in the U.S after the company's Nexus 6P's success in the country.
"The Huawei Mate 8 features a with a 6-inch Full HD display, a Kirin 950 chip, a 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera, a 4000mAh battery and the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with the Huawei EMUI 4.0 overlay. The device will come in Champagne Gold, Moonlight Silver, Space Gray, and Mocha Brown color options," iDigital Times said.
