"Fifty Shades Darker" star Jamie Dornan recently slammed the modeling world for objectifying him.
In an interview with The Guardian, the Irish-born actor said that there were some instances wherein he felt as if people were demanding too much from him as a model.
"At times, yeah. One the whole, no. I got lucky with that gig because quite early on I could be picky about what I did, where I did it. And because I was on contracts, I was working maybe ten days a year and getting paid really well for it," he said.
Meanwhile, now that Dornan is no longer modeling for any fashion brands, the actor said that he wants to focus more on his acting.
Just recently, he was cast to play the role of Christian Grey in the "Fifty Shades" trilogy, according to Screenrant.
However, Dornan admitted that he feels extreme pressure for having been the part because E.L. James' book alone already has a huge following.
"I am never going to please all 100 million people who read the book. I'll be lucky if half that number are happy with me playing Christian Grey. I know there are campaigns of hate against me already," he added.
Dornan also said that he has never read the book or even heard of it before he audition for the role. His wife Amelia Warner was also clueless about the entire hype surrounding James' book.
"Nope. Because we are the types of people who have the Guardian as our home page. Look, the film is not the book. It's an adaptation, and Sam Taylor-Johnson is an artist as well as an award-winning film director. Look at her track record. And look at the film studios behind it. Universal. Focus. All I can say is, wait until you see it before passing judgment," he said.
"Fifty Shades Darker" is slated for release on Feb. 10, 2017.
