We are used to seeing celebrities in the multi-media showing off their talents and skills, be it in singing, dancing, acting, modeling, even boxing. With their in-demand roles and popularity, we surely can tell how rich they have become. Let's take a glimpse at the houses of few highest-paid celebrities and see it for ourselves how their career turned them into a 'king' or 'queen'.
Boxer Manny Pacquiao purchased a 10,000-square-foot mansion in Beverly Hills two months before The Fight of the Century. This mansion with a 20-seater home theater was sold to him by Sean "Diddy" Combs. Diddy just bought a brand new, 17,000-square-foot mansion with a 35-seater home theater with an overall worth of $39 million about six months before he sold his mansion in Beverly Hills to Pacquiao.
The actual sale price of Combs' mansion was undisclosed but reports said that Pacquiao's purchase of the mansion was relatively reasonable compared to his earnings.
According to Celebrity 100 List for 2015, the majority of the properties bought by celebrities are in Los Angeles particularly in Bird Streets in the Hollywood Hills. Residents in these streets include Leonardo DiCaprio (No. 89), Dr. Dre (No. 73), Google Executive Eric Schmidt, and Keanu Reeves. Mid-Century Modern Homes of Trousdale Estates are also home to Elton John (No. 31), Courteney Cox, Jane Fonda, and was once a residence of Jennifer Aniston. The Pacific Palisades which is around that neighborhood has comfortable abodes occupied by Adam Sandler, Steven Spielberg, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks, and Kate Hudson. Celebrities Justin Bieber and the Kardashians also live in the San Fernando Valley particularly in Calabasas.
On the other hand, there are also celebs who prefer to stay away from Los Angeles or New York. Johnny Depp (No. 87) and his former French partner actress Vanessa Paradis stay in their own mini-village in Southern France. Justin Timberlake (No. 12) and wife Jessica Biel purchased a property in a $300,000-worth private ski resort in the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana. Meanwhile, Trisha Yearwood's Malibu and Garth Brooks' (No. 6) property are now in the list of properties for sale. Yearwood's 4,236-square-foot-home is for sale for $7.8 million. Tom Cruise's (No. 52) ranch in Telluride is also for sale with a current list price of $59 million, which Cruise only bought at $1.9 million back in 1992.
We might be wondering how do these celebrities come up with their own home choice but surely, each of these celebrities has his or her own reasons for choosing such home. "Certainly, the number one thing they're looking for is going to be privacy," says president of The Agency, Billy Rose. The Agency is a luxury Real Estate firm in Los Angeles Billy Rose co-founded with Maurico Umansky, husband of Kyle Richards, a TV star of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills."
