DJ Steve Aoki Unloads Wonderland Avenue Home for $1.09 Million

DJ Steve Aoki, the Grammy-nominated EDM heavyweight, has reportedly managed to unload his home in Wonderland Avenue, Los Angeles, for $1.09 million.

Aoki bought the house in 2008 for $1.07 million. He first listed the house in February, this year, for $1.49 million, but took it off the market in May. He put it back on the market for $1.19 million in July this year. Property records show the home went under contract September 9 and closed sale October 8.

Aoki sold the residence while he was in residency in Ibiza. The renowned DJ was living in a villa there, where he apparently held barbecue parties with friends.

Joshua Flagg of Rodeo Realty was marketing the home. The buyers were assisted by Todd Weaver of Synergy Commercial Real Estate Inc.

The home is a 2,480-square-feet single-family house that is comprised of five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Just minutes away from the celeb-studded Sunset Strip, the double-storey home is a typical man cave. Interiors of the house feature tiled, laminated and hardwood flooring along with high ceilings and skylights.

Living spaces include a mixed dining and sitting area. An open staircase leads to the bedrooms above. There is a study, a recording studio, a modern kitchen and also a Jacuzzi-fit master bath.

Outside, the home has private gardens and sitting area that can be reached through open patios. There is a separate two-car parking garage too.

The listing described the place as an "incredible modern home".

Aoki has been called the "hardest working DJ in the world" by Billboard. The DJ has his own production label "Dim Mak", plays in a band and averages about 300 shows a year. In 2012, he became the highest grossing DJ and remains one of the richest DJs of our time.

Aoki recently released his album "Neon Future 1" in August. Speaking of the concept behind unusual 10-song album, Aoki told the Rolling Stones magazine that the driving force was "science fiction."

"Extending our lives, extending our creativity, opening up the mysteries of the brain. All those things that are really exciting - that's kind of the basis of Neon Future, and that's why I interviewed Ray Kurzweil and Aubrey de Grey. I'm also doing a companion set called Neon Future Sessions, where I'm interviewing different scientists, authors, writers - interesting people who have written books that have inspired me. I went to Oxford University and interviewed Richard Dawkins on his take on the future. I was really curious to hear what he had to say about that. That's going to be happening on my YouTube channel," he said.
