Latest reports said that he, indeed, is going to be replaced and the production now has a list of actors vying for the challenging role as Iron Man.

Downey himself is said to have joked about saying that he wanted to be given the liberty to pick who would play the role in the next Iron Man series. It seems that Robert Downey Jr. is no longer playing Iron Man in the fourth installment. Well, there are no reports from the Marvel Studio yet as to who would be the next Iron Man. However, Australia Network News reported that the 14-year-old Ty Simpkins, who played Harley Keener, might portray the role.

This fourth installment is not yet slated for shooting until year 2019. So, four years from now, Simpkins will have been in his late teens, making him perfect for the role then. Who knows? The plot may have Downey Jr.'s Iron Man training Simpkins as the new Iron Man and would take on the role of the flamboyant billionaire.

On the other hand, reports from Movie Web show that Leonardo DiCaprio and Jon Hamm also vye for the lead role spot. Both of them are potential for the character. Jon Hamm successfully portrayed the part of an arrogant millionaire in the movie "Mad Men." DiCaprio also played the character of an eccentric billionaire in movies a lot of times already, so, very likely, he can make it to the next Iron Man 4 as well.

Whether DiCaprio or Hamm gets the post in "Iron Man 4," rest assured that their acting prowess and professionalism in their craft will never fail us.
