While many video games are getting DLC's, new content, updates and patches, one after another, Microsoft was preparing to give "Minecraft" an update as well.
And just recently "Minecraft" on consoles just received the biggest update. The and those playing "Minecraft" on PlayStation Vita need not fret as the handheld console will get the same update very soon, according to Siliconera. The massive Minecraft update for PS4 and Xbox One introduces new elements to the sandbox game including new potions, blocks and mobs. And the new biomes and completely new tutorials is the most likely reason why the update was huge.
Specifically, Granite, Red Sandstone, Sea Lanterns, Slime, and Packed Ice are the new blocks that have been introduced by the latest update. There are new flowers too. Now in "Minecraft" one will find Blue Orchids, Sunflowers, Azure Blues, Tulips, and Lilacs among others.
According to Christian Post, this update, known as Update 1.8.8, brings the PS 4 version closer to the PC version. This massive update has brought more than just blocks and biomes to "MineCraft" as now gamers can find any type of fish including puffer fish and more varieties of animals including rabbits. There are also new mobs such as Endermite, Guardian, Elder Guardian, Rabbit and Chicken Jockey
The creative mode gets new fun things too such as span eggs for Rabbit, Endermite and Guardian and new-fangled blocks.
The villages in "MineCraft" have also been upgraded in terms of skills as they now have the ability to harvest and breed or turn into witches. With respect to this the developers at Mojang recommends, "To encourage that kind of behavior, give them 3 bread, 12 carrots, or 1 potato. They'll also turn into Witches when struck by lightning.
Or course no update is complete without the necessary bug fixes. For more details on the update you may proceed to Mojang's Change Log.
