The city of Pasadena is preparing for the celebration of the annual Rose Parade set to take off on New Year's Day.
According to the report of CBS Local, the Pasadena Police Department is teaming up with Homeland Security agents to beef up the security of the event after the series of terrorist attacks and public shootings.
"One of the greatest force multipliers we have here in Pasadena are the people who live, work or visit in our great community," said Chief Phillip Sanchez of the Pasadena police. "For many years now, we have adopted the notion of 'see something, say something.'"
Additional security cameras were added by the police department while Homeland Security personnel are in-charge of searching for any explosives using a variety of methods, such as bomb-sniffing dogs and advance technological devices that can search even a miniscule of amount of radiation.
"On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, federal personnel will be employing a variety of explosive-detection methods, as well as at key venues across the city from bomb-sniffing dogs to sophisticated devices that register even minute amounts of radiation," said Mark Selby, deputy special agent in charge of the Department of Homeland Security in Los Angeles.

What You Can Do:
- Camp overnight on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015.
- Bring BBQ grill as long as it's professionally made and elevated at least one foot off the ground and 25 feet away from buildings and combustibles (must also have fire extinguisher on hand).
- Minors are allowed along parade route from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. as long as there is adult supervision.
What You Can't Do:
- Fly drones or aircraft.
- Use umbrellas and selfie sticks at the corner of Colorado and Orange Grove boulevards.
- Set up tents, sofas and boxes that can be used to sit on.
- Build bonfires.
- Set off fireworks.
- Rope off section along parade route.
- Sell your spot along the parade route (other than grandstand seating).
- Have an open container of alcohol.
- Smoke along the parade route.
