Rapper Travis Scott pleaded guilty to reckless conduct charges on Tuesday for his mishap in the Lollapalooza festival earlier during this summer.
According to Billboard, Scott - whose real name is Jacques Webster - "encouraged fans to climb over barricades" during his Lollapalooza set, which prompted a stampede.
Although no one died from the incident, a 15-year-old girl ended up getting trampled. As it turns out, a judge had ordered Scott "to remain under court supervision" for a whole year.
Meanwhile, Rolling Stone reports that Travis Scott's Lollapalooza set lasted only five minutes, before it was reportedly closed. The publication reports:
"Scott's Lollapalooza set lasted just five minutes before being shut down. In a video of the incident, the Houston rapper can be seen telling fans to jump the barricades to move closer to the stage, while telling security - whom he refers to as 'everyone in a green shirt' - to move out of the way."
As dozens of fans found their way on the stage, organizers immediately stopped the music and even threatened to end the set if the stage wasn't evacuated. "I wanna finish performing," Scott told his fans.
"We can start over, everybody just get down," he added. Unfortunately, Scott's advice was a bit too late, perhaps, as the concert had already been shut down by then. Travis Scott reportedly left the scene rapidly before getting arrested by Chicago police.
In spite of the incident, Travis Scott has been having a pretty big year. The Houston-born rapper released his debut LP, entitled "Rodeo," in September. Tracks from the album feature some notable musicians too: Future, 2 Chainz, Juicy J, Chief Keef, the Weeknd, and Justin Bieber.
Pharrell, Mike Dean and Metro Boomin were also featured on the album as producers. On the other hand, Kanye West helped Scott out with the production - and a rap verse - on "Piss on Your Grave." Kim Kardashian's husband even appeared in the song's music video.
Webster is set to open for the North American leg of Rihanna's "Anti" world tour next year, which begins in San Diego, California on February 26.
Travis Scott net worth is $4 million.
