Mercedes' All-New 2018 E-Class Coupe Spied on Film

The latest model of the Mercedes-Benz is a sportier version, which is a two-door coupe to be transformed into a production model next year.

On a publication from Car Scoops, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe, which is labeled as a 2018 MY in North America, will use the same platform as the four-door version, and comes with a sloping roofline towards the back and with small twists to the front and rear ends.

The 2018 E-Class Coupe resembles the new C-Class Coupe and S-Class Coupe, while its engine will be shared with the sedan, as a wide range of four-, six- and eight-cylinder units are expected, including an updated version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, in the range-topping E63.

Mercedes-Benz will pull the wraps off the new E-Class generation in the sedan style at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show next month. In mid-2016, the Estate is expected to follow, and eventually by the Coupe. A convertible version is also included in the planning, but production will not start before the end of 2017.

Just a month away, Mercedes-Benz will take the wraps off its new E-Class sedan.

The long-wheelbase Mercedes-Maybach and high-performance Mercedes-AMG E63 have already been spied, and now there are the first spy shots of the new E-Class Coupe.

According to Motor Authority, comparing with the shots, Mercedes doesn't appear to be pulling any surprises with the design of the new E-Class Coupe. The size and proportions seem to match the current model, while the details have some elements on the C-Class Coupe and S-Class Coupe.

Debuted in the latest C-Class is the modular rear-wheel-drive platform known as the MRA which is underpinning the car. This should ensure that the new E-Class Coupe is more dynamic than the model it replaces.

The benefits that the E-Class Coupe can include tech features such as advanced autonomous driving capabilities, which include automatic lane changing, a lavish interior complete with two huge display screens replacing the old dashboard displays. The dash will look similar to the one found in the S-Class range.
