Alan Thicke Net Worth: 'Growing Pains' Actor Also Had A Major Flub at Mrs. World 2006 Crowning

Steve Harvey isn't the only celebrity host to commit a huge beauty pageant mistake. As it turns out, Alan Thicke also had a flub on stage during the Mrs. World pageant in 2006, almost a decade before Miss Colombia (Ariadna Gutierrez) was mistakenly crowned as the 2015 Miss Universe, instead of Miss Philippines (Pia Wurtzbach).

It's not just any regular mistake either. Just like Harvey, Robin Thicke's father had some minor issues when announcing the 2006 Mrs. World winner and the runner-ups, which led to the wrong candidate being crowned as well. Entertainment Tonight reports:

"During the 2006 Miss[us] World pageant in St. Petersburg, Russia, Thicke caused some confusion when he quickly read the runner-up and the winner of the competition one after the other. The actor announced that Miss[us] Costa Rica was the runner-up and Miss[us] Russia was the new Miss[us] World. However, due to the language barrier and the speed in which he read off the names, Miss[us] Costa Rica ended up being crowned."

"This first runner-up is... Mrs. Costa Rica. Mrs. World 2006, Mrs. Russia," Thicke initially announced. Although he didn't announce the wrong winner, Alan definitely had a flub when delivering the announcement.

Similar to this year's Miss Universe flub, Mrs. Costa Rica began celebrating with the other pageant contestants soon after a little girl dressed in an angel costume appeared from the ceiling, handing her the crown.

Unfortunately, the celebrations were quickly put to a halt after the corrections were announced to a very confused audience, noting that Mrs. Russia was the actual winner of the pageant.

Of course, Mrs. Costa Rica was promptly de-crowned and de-sashed, which was later given to Mrs. Russia. Backstage footage even featured how angry contestants were for the mistake. "This is wrong," one contestant repeatedly said.
