NBA Rumors: Sacramento Kings Would Rather Fire George Karl than to Place Cousins in the Trade Market

The rumor mill has been involving DeMarcus Cousins since the start of the season. Though his contract will still last till 2018, many rumors are circulating about a possible trade with the Kings.  Aside from the said interest of other teams, trade rumors including Cousins in the equations are rampant because of his said attitude inside and outside the court. He was even allegedly involved in altercation with his head coach, George Karl in the locker room. Cousins "stormed into the locker room and cursed out head coach George Karl with a torrent of obscenities," reported bleacherreport.

However despite the said immaturity of Cousins and lack of sense of leadership, he is still being favoured by front office. According reports, Sacramento Kings general manager Vlade Divac confirmed that Cousins will not be traded and is off the trade market. Movienewsguide also detailed that, "Although a few teams wanted Kings to trade DeMarcus Cousins, Kings would rather prefer to fire George Karl than trading Demarcus Cousins, despite the numerous NBA Trade Rumors."

The rumored decision of the Kings could be seen as a more logical move. For they would rather have someone who has greater value than rather cut off someone on which they might not get much of a return. And Cousins is still not on his prime and would be developing into a leader type and centrepiece material for Kings in the coming days. That is why Divac's decision not to let go of a center player that is hard to come by is relatively beneficial for the team, especially if other players that could complement Cousins talent will be added in the Kings roster in the coming season. And besides, according to Sir Charles In Charge, things are getting better between coach Karl and Cousins, so a trade is not necessary as of the moment.
