"God of War 4" is one of the highly anticipated games for release especially that many gamers are enjoying the current "God of War 3 Remastered." But there is one question that fans want to know, is main character Kratos coming back to the franchise, or not?
"God of War 4" will be exclusively released on Sony's PlayStation. Recently, Sony's Santa Monica Studio hinted that instead the game might be released on 2016 or 2017 although many fans believe that it will be out next year.
Said game is currently in progress but is still on an infancy stage. But despite the early stage of the game's development, gamers and fans are already speculating about the plot of the game wherein some believes that the main character Kratos will no longer be part of "God of War 4," Cross Map reported.
Gamers were left on a cliffhanger for the finale of "God of War 3" which made them anticipate the next game of said title. The cliffhanger also made fans speculate the story of the franchise.
"The one thing that we're all speculating about is the presence of Kratos in GoW4. Is he really gone from the video gaming world? Granted though, the conclusion to God of War 3 has made us skeptical about whether Kratos is indeed gone. But if the series moved on without this intensely cool badass, would it really be the same anymore if his character was simply replaced?" Movie Pilot wrote.
Said question started when a fan mentioned it on Sony's Santa Monica Studio that Kratos may not appear in the "God of War 4".
"So Cory Barlog just announced Sony Santa Monica is working on a new God Of War," Charles Weichselbaum said on Twitter which received a response from Tyrantll that said, "his story is done...Please don't bring back Kratos or Greek Mythology," tagging Sony Santa Monica's director.
With that, Sony Santa Monica replied with a tweet, "Yes, the gods have verified this to be true."
So, whether Kratos is back or not, developers of the game didn't confirm yet but Game Director Cory Barlog said that there'll be constant update available on God of War 4 from here on out, IGN reported.
"God of War 4" is expected for release on 2016 or early 2017.
