What happened last Dec. 20, 2015 during the Miss Universe 2015 pageant has become a universal controversy to date. It has been even dubbed as "The Black Day in the History of Miss Universe." Looks like everybody who's watching the coronation has their eyes and fingers on and pointing at host Steve Harvey after he announced the wrong winner of the pageant.
Netizens, fans, and random citizens around the universe have expressed their own sentiments and rants on the blunder committed by Harvey. Albeit the public apology done by the host for his announcement mishap after Miss Colombia has started taking her "make-believe" walk on stage as the Miss Universe 2015, it seems that critics could not just let go of such carelessness, even deemed the host's glitch an "unforgivable unprofessionalism."
Five days have already passed after the MU 2015 incident but still Steve Harvey's announcement glitch remains the hottest issue. A report from New York Daily News revealed that Harvey had missed out on some important rehearsals for the final day.
"Steve went to the beginning of the rehearsals but missed the last hour, at least," said an unnamed source from who later revealed that leakage of the story are coming from New York Daily News. Another angle of the story interprets that the teleprompter behind the stage shows "Miss Universe - Colombia" which resulted in a much deeper confusion despite Harvey's admission of his mistaken announcement.
Speculators are pointing at Harvey's taking of a long pause before announcing the result as the symbol of his lack of practice for the event. Video replays show that the host could not even deliver his spiels in a straight manner and sounded like he's stuttering.
Reports say that the people in Colombia felt that a strong country is devastated, the crown has been 'snatched' from them and is handed over to Miss Philippines.
The live public apology may not be enough for the host that he turned to his Twitter account to express his sincere regrets for such honest mistake.
