Life may be throwing a flurry of punches at current WWE Diva champ AJ Lee, but she's not willing to fall without throwing a punch back—by playing with her sexy and geeky sides in front of the camera.
Since the beginning of the Diva division in 2008, many women have occupied the ring, but the Inquisitr thinks Lee might be the only one who loves to play video games or watch anime. She displayed that "super sexy geeky side" with a gallery of 36 photos available on the WWE website's gallery page.
AJ Lee was the franchise's resident Geek Goddess before she was marketed as the Black Widow, and the photo shoot, with John Giamundo behind the lens, resurrected that nerdy facet of her, the page says, thus the name "The Geek Goddess Returns: Photos."
You'll see her with a full and a half smile. In some, she has this piercing stare, either channelling an angry wrestling machine or a seductress. The styling team knew what it wanted to show off, not tucking away that divine midriff of hers.
The photos are rolled out at a time when Lee faces the nude photo controversy that has been shooting down stars on the TV and theater screens, including the "Hunger Games" star Jennifer Lawrence and Kaley Cuoco of the "Big Bang Theory".
AJ had already addressed the issue on Twitter, by responding to a fan's tweet in September, Sportskeeda reported.
"I HATE to Disappoint everyone in #WWE Universe the alleged @WWEAJLee #AJLee photo well the main 1 floating around is @LillyEvans_ not AJ lol," the fan posted. Lee responded: "@rawstarr Is this a thing? Thanks, I think.
According to Sportskeeda, the photo circulating online is not hers and pre-dates "The Fappening," the term used to describe the leaked celeb photos.
"... [T]he photo was originally posted a year ago this month by an account highlighting erotic photos of women in pro-wrestling and adult stars," the Sept. 28 report said. "The account labels the photo as an AJ look-alike."
The photos also come as many speculate that her career's end looms, because of the trouble her husband CM Punk has gotten himself into after ditching the WWE.
According to another Inquisitr report, people would sometimes cheer on Lee through chanting "CM Punk!" during matches and promos. That's going to be a nightmare for her, it said, explaining that it disrespects her "in the worst possible way."
The chanting spawns a tense situation for Lee, especially after CM Punk walked out on his contract because he did not like how the franchise was booking him for matchups. It also implies that she is not significant enough to make her own mark, Inquisitr said.
Lee gets bookings because she could be the only Diva worth anything, the report differed, but with fresh talent coming to the WWE, the CM Punk controversy only makes everyone think her last day in wrestling is coming.
In the meantime, the photos are saying she's not worried.
