Before And After: Star Wars Casts After 38 Years

"Star Wars" is one of the great movies Hollywood has ever produced. With "Star Wars'" pioneering movie launched in the 20th century and more of its installments following since 1977 to date, we can likely say that such movie truly transcends time.

It has been almost four decades already since this movie first mystified the kids of different generations. While we are bound to feel old every time we hear of "Star Wars'" first release, we might also think the whatabouts and whereabouts of its original casts. Few of them may have already died in the passing time. But, what about those casts who once knocked us off our seats at the cinema 38 years ago?

The Old Cat Lady Celebrity News can help us check out the Top 5 actors who took us to a galaxy from afar and blew us away once upon a time:

Mark Hamill

The performances of Hamill is truly legendary. He portrayed the character of Luke Skywalker in the first "Star Wars" installment back in 1977. He was already appearing on television programs prior to his "Star Wars" stint. But, his successful role as Luke Skywalker was his big break that he could already choose his role in movies thereafter. After his performance in "Star Wars," he was The Joker in "The Batman" series and portrayed a role in "The Dark Knight." At 64, he already had 275 acting credits and is still alive and kicking to show us what he's got just before retirement.

James Earl Jones

Jones' voice is one of the most iconic of all time. He didn't bank on the "Star Wars" movie all throughout his career as he didn't like his acting skill to be defined as only bankable in some kind of sci-fi movie. Despite his acting principle, he has resumed doing voice roles in "Star Wars'" installments. His voice was a hit from "The Lion King" movies to "Conan the Barbarian." His golden voice is still remarkable down to this day. Jones is one of the most impressive "Star Wars" casts as he has 189 credits and counting, which is not bad for an 84-year-old man after all.

Kenny Baker

You could barely see Baker on the big screen as he is literally not noticeable. After all, he is only less than 4 feet tall. He never thought his robot role would be his "big break" in the film industry. He received a lot of job offers from there and onwards which he didn't see coming. His dwarfism truly paid off for him as he was in-demand in miniature roles as goblins, pickpockets, and literally one of the dwarves in the "Flash Gordan" movies.

Carrie Fisher

Who can forget this 'ultimate crush' of teenage boys back in the '70s and '80s? She was the girl in a slave-Leia outfit who was adored by cinema-goers during her shining big screen role. He became one of the hottest leading ladies right after "Star Wars." Carrie starred in "Mia," a television series that contributed to her acting credits. At 58 years old, Carrie is to reprise her role in space in the latest "Star Wars" installment. She also expressed that she wanted a more conservative outfit for the role.

Harrison Ford

"Star Wars" can never be the same again without Harrison Ford. Ford had been an actor ever since. He once quit acting to focus on carpentry until he was offered the Han Solo role as his overall star package was deemed perfect for such. He portrayed as the infamous smuggler in "Star Wars" revitalized his interest in cinema once more. He became Indiana Jones and Rick Deckard, and the rest was movie history. At 73, he is still a hot, older male icon Hollywood ever has.
