Employment Update: Jobs You Can Hardly Acquire In 2016

Career Cast lists top 10 jobs that are extremely difficult to acquire in 2016 due to varied reasons. These reasons include a retirement that is caused by a workforce coming to age, shortage of talent at a given field and the demand in growth that's above average.

Here's a rundown of the top five jobs that are the toughest to fill in, in no particular order.

Software Engineer

For every new graduate of software engineering, three slots will be available. In 2022, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimates an astounding 222,600 vacant positions waiting to be filled in.

Physical Therapist

According to the American Physical Therapy Association, there will be an estimated 229,000 of excess, in-demand of full-time physical therapist in 2016. Candidates for this job are only 196,000 which means 33,000 are unfilled. The demand for this job is up due to an aging population as well as the better access to health insurance.

Registered Nurse

A projected growth rate of 19 percent is expected to rise in 2022 in this position. It also estimates that 525,000 registered nurses will be replaced came 2022 because of retirements. In the next seven years, over 1.05 million nurses are expected to be hired to cover up vacant slots. The average age of nurses who are currently working is also expected to increase at 44.6 from 42.7.

General and Operations Manager

The BLS anticipates a 12.4 percent growth in 2022 in demand of this profession. Talent scouts will have to be very busy soon. The 12 percent rate consummates to 613,000 positions that need to be deputized in the next seven years.

Information Security Analyst

As the information technology gets modern, so as the demand for this position. Microsoft revealed that early next year, companies in North America will have to open 2.7 million vacant positions to fill in the slot.
