Designer Marc Ecko's New Jersey Estate Is Back On the Market For $15M

After the unsuccessful attempt to find a buyer late last year, fashion mogul Marc Ecko is again putting his enormous and opulent estate on the market, dropping the initial listing price of $18 million to $15 million, Fox News reports.

Called the 'Stronghold', Ecko's 20,000 square foot home sits on 32 acres of land in Bernardsville, NJ. The castle-like brownstone was once owned by architect George Brown Post and his wife, Charlotte Augusta Astor. Built in 1886, the single-family has the must-have amenities for any luxury home.

"A landmark estate of incomparable majesty, quality, & sophistication, lovingly restored & expanded by one of the country's foremost entrepreneurs with passionate attention to its heritage," says the listing on Realtor.

Also considered as One of the Great American Estates, Stronghold boasts a total of 22 rooms, 7 bedrooms, 8 full baths and 5 powder rooms, a freestanding gymnasium that comes with a full basketball court, 2 pools, carriage house, stone guest house and 10 garages. All these amenities are surrounded by emerald green rolling lawns and huge towering trees, according to Realtor.

The inside is covered with lush details, from gilded quatrefoil doors, painted frescoes that are in plain sight through the circular openings in the upper level, a spacious formal living room that boasts wood flooring in herringbone pattern, and a fleur-de-lis covered golden ceilings.

Outside, the poolside veranda is not to disappoint. It has a covered patio, a grill, manicured gardens where guests and residents can enjoy the different indulgent leisure activities that the property offers.

"A rare opportunity to live in a work of art & enjoy all the elegance & grandeur of a bygone era, yet all the modern conveniences for grand scale living & entertaining," according to Realtor.

Ecko is the founder of alternative T-shirt company Ecko Unltd. which started in 1993 and became a huge success among the hip-hoperati taking it to its billion-dollar business status today.
