NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks to Acquire Pau Gasol; A Perfect Fit with Their Triangle Offense

The New York Knicks is somehow seeing some light with the performance of their rookie player Kristaps Porzingis, however, things may seem not enough for the team to qualify for the playoffs. That is why there have been some rumors that Knicks is in a look for an experienced big man to solidify their frontcourt and train their frontline rookie player, Porzingis.

According to some reports, the New York Knicks would like to ask the help of the veteran big man of the Chicago Bulls Pau Gasol. With Gasol still capable of 16.1 points per game and 10.9 rebounds per game, his presence would surely be a game changer for the team. Aside from that, his experience playing along with Knicks head coach Derek Fisher would be a perfect fit for the "Triangle Offense" which was taught by the current Knicks GM who was Gasol's former head coach in the Lakers, Phil Jackson. This would be a reunion for the three of them having their own respective roles in the Knicks franchise.

The addition of Gasol in the lineup will not only solidify their frontline but will also support the main man of the Knick, Carmelo Anthony. Anthony who is in the latter part of his prime years, is thirsty for a championship. And perhaps with the addition of Gasol in the line-up such dream would eventually come true.

While on the other hand, trading Gasol to the Knicks would somehow help Chicago manage the rotation of their players. With a very deep frontline players like Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic, Joakim Noah and Bobby Portis, the Bulls is having a hard time giving each players significant minutes in a game. With the possible departure of Gasol, such dilemma would be solved. And according to digitaljournal, the Bulls could likewise have a slot for a much younger player with shooting ability that could go along with the transition of the franchise.
