Janet Jackson Net Worth: 'Rhythm Nation' Singer To Undergo Surgery, Postpones 'Unbreakable' Tour

Janet Jackson has been keeping herself busy with her "Unbreakable" World Tour. But unfortunately, the 49-year-old "Scream" singer had to immediately postpone the tour to undergo surgery.

Back in October, Jackson also had to postpone multiple concert dates to rest her vocal cords. However, this time around, Jackson did not specify as to what the upcoming surgery is for.

Jackson first made the announcement on Christmas Eve via Twitter. The lengthy message reads:

"I need you to know, I learned today, from my doctors that I must have surgery soon. It breaks my heart to tell you that I am forced to postpone the 'Unbreakable' Tour until the spring. Every date will be rescheduled. Please hold on to your tickets. They will be honored in a special way when the new schedule is announced."

"There will be no further comment. I love you all so much and am ever grateful for your understand and your love. Gon' b alright," Jackson added.

Janet Jackson's "Unbreakable" world tour was slated to continue on January 9 in Denver, Colorado at the Pepsi Center. The new concert dates have not yet been announced, as of writing.

According to BBC, Jackson kicked off the "Unbreakable" World Tour in Vancouver, Canada on August. The tour included concerts around the United States, in Canada, and in Europe until June 2016.

The North American leg of the "Unbreakable" World Tour consisted of 30 dates, which were supposedly to be concluded on March 9 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Following the U.S. leg would be the European leg, comprising of 19 tour dates beginning March 30. After that, as Rolling Stone reports, the tour was scheduled to make a return to America for 24 more concerts.

"Unbreakable" is Janet Jackson's 11th album, and the first since her brother Michael Jackson passed away back in 2009.
