James Cameron is adamant on making "Avatar 2" happen, but only few details have been released regarding the film.
Although officially in pre-production, very little has been known about the next "Avatar" film. One thing is for sure though, there will be three more movies based on the blue aliens, and they will all be filmed simultaneously.
According to a report from Mirror UK, set to return are leads Zoe Saldana as Neytiri, Sigourney Weaver as Grace Augustine, Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, and Stephen Lang as Miles Quaritch.
Mirror also added that James's friend, actor Bill Paxton, is aiming for a role. He shared, "I describe Jim Cameron calling me up as being like the Batphone in my house. It's like Commissioner Gordon. 'Yes, Jim, what do you want me to do? Set myself on fire? Tell people I have a little d**k? I'm in! I'm in, Jim!"
Open calls for casting has been issued. In a report by Indian Country Today, the inhabitants of Pandora will be back for another film in 2016, and Cameron is looking to cast Native Americans for roles.
A press release posted on Acting Auditions stated that "All talent including minors and foreign actors must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand," which means that the cast will be flown out for production for all three movies, which are expected to be finished in nine months.

The same article also noted what to expect in the next "Avatar" franchise, stating that it will pick up after the events of the 2009 film. "Avatar 2" will be based in Pandora and "will explore all aspects of the habitable moon."
Hallels also reported that the next "Avatar" movies will shift to the ocean world and external threats are expected, as well as the emergence of new internal villains. The website also expects that the next movies, like the original released in 2009, will be visual spectacles.
The next three films are also expected to rake in billions of dollars, considering that the first movie alone scored almost £3 billion.
