"The Big Bang Theory" is one of the most top rated TV shows in CBS since it started but the show will soon get to the final season as the contracts of its cast members are also nearing to an end, revealed show runner Steve Molaro.
“The reality is that maybe Season 10 is the ending point,” Molaro said when asked about the future of the show in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “The real answer is I don’t know and all I can do right now is go episode to episode and try to make each one the best that we can.”
The show runner also added that he is still thinking of when to end "The Big Bang Theory" and that if Season 10 is the final season; he isn't worried about it just yet.
Co-creator Chuck Lorre added that since its introduction, the show has already surpassed everyone’s expectations. He even said that the question of ending the show isn't even realistic since it is TV's No. 1 comedy among adults age 18-49.
“I never imagined nine [seasons] and here we are,” co-creator Chuck Lorre said according to Inquisitr. “I’m not going to presume to know how many years this has because it’s ridiculous for me to guess… as long as everybody is having a good time and we’re making a show we’re proud of … then it’s worth continuing.”
Reports reveal that there are signs of the show going to an end as different milestones were being achieved like the marriage of Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and the first sexual intercourse of longtime couple Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) that made a buzz around the internet.
Apart from the possible final season of the show, Molaro also added some spoilers like the possibility of Sheldon and Amy talking about trying to have a baby. The moment when the couple had sex was added in the middle of the season instead of the finale so that there will still be interaction between the characters.
“Is there ever really a right time? I mean, in my own personal experience, it never quite felt like, ‘OK, this is exactly the right time to have a baby. Let’s do this.’ Our biggest concern with the show was doing it right and honoring the characters, more than the actual timeline,” Malora said.
The show runners wanted the fans to see how the relation of the Sheldon and Amy moves forward. But fans won't be seeing Sheldon proposing to Amy for now as he keeps his Meemaw’s ring which means that fans would need to wait some more.
The situation of Sheldon and Amy is being compared to that of "Castle" as they had a reunion that was “taking a time out from their time out,” TVLine noted.
