'Samsung Galaxy S6' News, Updates: Samsung Flagship Is Tech Website's Phone Of The Year For 2015

GSMarena concludes the year of 2015 with the proclamation of "Samsung Galaxy S6" as the phone of the year. As per the tech site's poll, readers' votes were gathered and it resulted to an undeniable win for the "Samsung Galaxy S6". The Korean flagship phone took up a third of the entire votes and as per GSMarena, the phone's victory is at no point in jeopardy.

There is however a very close fight for the second place spot, and it is between the "Sony Xperia Z5" and the "Apple iPhone 6S". Although the Xperia Z5 may have had the advantage of having been released earlier, the iPhone 6S was able to cope up and won the second spot - just by a tiny difference of 1%.

There is a considerable distance between the Xperia Z5 and the 4th placer phone though, that is the "LG G4", which got a decent 10% of the total votes. The G4's result isn't all that bad especially when you look at it in an angle where one out of ten people voted for it as their 2015 phone of the year. What was surprising was the results for "Microsoft Lumia 950" which only got 8%. Sure Windows phones may have a smaller number of users but its quite a known fact how competitive the device is when it comes to features and overall goodness.

Furthermore, the "LG Nexus 5X", "Huawei P8", and "HTC One M9+ Supreme Camera" are at the bottom of the list, which can be quite disappointing especially for the 5X. Huawei phone's position on the other hand is a bit understandable considering that the company is yet to build its name up as a flagship producing company (at least for flagships that are completely Huawei).

Overall, the results were not entirely shocking, especially for the top three. Galaxy S6, iPhone 6S, and Xperia Z5 were actually three of the most talked about devices of the year, so it's no surprise that these three phones take the top three spots of the phone of the year poll results.

The tech website is up for another poll result in the coming days, and this time it would be for the 2015's phablet of the year.
